Teacher Matus
The person I admire was a language teacher that I had in elective from third to fourth grade, his name is Felipe Matus. I think this teacher marked me, even though I did not have all my high school education, the two years that I was able to have classes with him I remember them with all the affection of him, I admire Professor Matus since in addition to being a teacher, he was like our friend, he always told us that we were like his little sisters. In his classes we always discussed controversial issues of the present or of the past, he made us read wonderful texts, in general plays. I had never had such a close relationship with a teacher, I always saw them in a hierarchical way and in general, when I went to basic school, they generated fear in me.
Professor Matus, in addition to being a teacher at my former municipal high school, is active in a solidarity group in his commune, they deliver boxes of merchandise, take different courses, hold raffles, etc. where she invited my group of friends and me to see a play called "landscapes to not color" (a beautiful work by the way, I highly recommend it !!), unfortunately in the middle of last year he was intubated by covid but is currently well, being a dad since his first daughter was born recently.
I long for the pandemic to end quickly to return to my high school and visit him along with all my other teachers that I love and admire so much.
I hope they can be found again very soon !! <3
